Vitamin B12 injections

Vitamin B12 - After water and oxygen, vitamin B12 is the next essential micronutrient molecule vital for health. A deficiency is common, can manifest at any age and is largely unrecognised. some signs of a Vitamin B12 deficiency can include depression, anxiety, forgetfulness, tension headaches and lethargy. Your lifestyle and some medical conditions can lead to a deficiency such as - poor diet, excessive alcohol consumption, genetic disorders, gastrointestinal illness and the use of antacids. Vitamin B12 can also be depleted in vegan or vegetarian clients.

More information

Vitamin B12 is essential in producing red blood cells, for the functioning of the nervous system, and for the synthesis of DNA. A lack of vitamin B12 causes anemia, fatigue, weakness, fatigue, weight loss and issues relating to the reproductive system. Vitamin B12 is found mainly in animal products and rarely in herbal products. That’s why vegans and vegetarians should take a supplement or choose cereals that are enriched with B12. Its main sources are the following: food of animal origin (meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products). Those who do not consume meat but consume dairy products or eggs are at risk of developing vitamin B12 deficiency in 64% and 47% respectively. On the other hand, strict vegetarians who consume neither dairy products nor eggs are at very serious risk of developing a lack of vitamin B12 at a rate of more than 92%. There is also a shortage observed in the elderly, people with digestive disorders and in those who have had surgery to reduce body weight, as the process interferes with the body’s ability to extract it from food. Finally, in people with diseases that cause malabsorption in the intestine, such as celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, as well as in those who consume increased amounts of alcohol, the absorption of B12 by the body is reduced. If you are vegan or vegetarian or have been experiencing any of the above conditions, it would be advisable to visit with your GP to assess whether you are lacking in this essential vitamin or not. At GLO Cosmetic Aesthetics, we can administer intramuscular vitamin B12 which is easily absorbed into the body. Injecting the vitamin directly into the deltoid muscle is a safe and relatively pain free process.
