Our signature facial is designed to rejuvenate, relax and restore. Your treatment begins with a calming back massage, followed by a gentle cleanse using enzymatic exfoliation to shed dry, dulling skin cells and embedded impurities. Warm towel compresses infused with restorative essential oils are used to soften your skin and stimulate blood flow. A face, neck and shoulder massage incorporating warm and cool stones to aid lymphatic and blood circulation, promote relaxation and sense of well being. Treatment masks to feed, hydrate and brighten the skin are applied whilst you experience a soothing scalp massage. Pre & Post-Treatment Advice

PRE TREATMENT

Drink plenty of water, at least 2 litres per day. This will help to hydrate your skin and prepare it for your facial.
Ensure you follow an effective skincare regime so your consultant can assess your current skin condition.
Avoid drinking alcohol to excess or smoking as this may cause your skin and the underlying tissues to become hyper reactive.
Avoid using skincare with retina or retinol within a three-day window as these products may cause an irritation with facial products.
Avoid attending your facial treatment immediately post exercise, sauna, steam, or sunbed.
Do not have any facial hair removal treatments including laser, waxing or epilation prior to your facial.

POST TREATMENT

Maintain your water consumption as this will assist in the removal of waste products and toxins from your skin. It will also keep your skin hydrated.
Avoid alcohol consumption or smoking. water as that will continue to keep your skin hydrated.
Avoid direct UV exposure if possible for the remainder of the day. If you do intend to spend time outdoors, ensure that you protect your skin with a high SPF.
Try not to touch your face for the remainder of the day and not be tempted to irritate any skin congestion that has been worked on by your consultant.
Avoid extremes in temperature including hot baths and showers, sauna, steam or sunbed for for 72 hours.
Any skin irritation or redness will be increased.
Do not apply makeup for the rest of the day. Any application of cosmetic products may lead to the introduction of bacteria and congestion. Follow your bespoke skincare regime as advised by your consultant.
Products will be recommended to you and can be purchased from GLO.

Pre & Post-Treatment Advice

PRE TREATMENT

Avoid excess sun exposure, including tanning beds for 1 week before treatment, and use SPF 30 or greater daily to ensure coverage against UVB and UBA rays.
Do not use any type of exfoliants 2 days before treatment.
Refrain from any chemical peels or lasers for 2 weeks prior.
Discontinue use of Tretinoin type products (Renova, Tretinoin, Retin A, Retin A Micro, Tri-Luma, Solage, etc.) at least 2 days before treatment.
Discontinue use of Hydroquinone 2-3 days before treatment.
If you have a history of cold sores, consider beginning prophylactic treatment with an anti viral medication or similar no later than the day of treatment.
Notify GLO if you develop a cold sore, acne, open lesions in the area being treated, or experience any type of illness before your treatment.
Wait 2 weeks after Botox and filler treatments to have a HydraFacial treatment.

POST TREATMENT

Avoid any exfoliation to the area for 48 hours post-treatment.
To keep the area clean, avoid heat sources, including hot showers, saunas, and cardio workouts that may produce sweat for 24 hours.
You may wash your face the following morning using the products recommended by your consultant.
Please discuss continuing use of your regular regimen post-treatment.
Do not use topical Retin-A for 2 days following treatment.
Avoid unprotected sun exposure and/or use of tanning beds for at least 3 days post-treatment.
Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily for 3-5 days post-treatment.
Makeup may be applied the day after treatment.

Pre & Post-Treatment Advice

PRE TREATMENT

Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning (including sunbeds) two weeks prior to treatment.
Avoid using acid/chemical based products to the area one week prior to treatments (for example glycolic/salicylic acid and retinols) Avoid having aha peels/ microdermabrasion or similar and waxing for 2 weeks prior the treatment.
Inform your consultant of any changes in medication/health.
Inform your consultant of history or flare up of cold sores as this can impair treatment.
Anti-viral medication may be able to be taken to help.
If topical anaesthetic is to be used please apply 30-45 minutes before your appointment.

POST TREATMENT

The treated area can be red or pink in colour after the treatment and this may last for a few hours. It will also feel warm to the touch during this time.
Bleeding may occur slightly afterwards this is normal and will soon stop. You may also see some grazing of the skin following treatments depending on the treatment protocol used.
Dry/flaky skin afterwards is very normal and can be helped with a plain moisturise don’t pick or exfoliate during this time.
A high protection sunscreen should be used after treatments and sun exposure should be avoided for 1- week post treatment.
Make-up can be applied after 12 hrs.
Immediately after treatment, contraction of your collagen fibres improves the skin’s elasticity and so your skin may appear firmer. This can be temporary as the production of new collagen takes time, and best results are seen after your course of treatments (continuing for 3 to 6 months after the end of your course).
Avoid alcohol and keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Avoid heat treatments such as hot baths/showers, saunas, steam rooms for 72 hours post treatment.
Waxing, tweezing and depilatory creams can be resumed 3 days’ post treatment.
A non-exfoliating cleanser and light moisturizer can be used on the day of treatment and for 1-2 days afterwards
By around day 3 normal skin routine can be resumed the following day avoiding acid/chemical based products for at least 3 days’ post treatment.
Further laser treatment, chemical peels, Botox/Dermal fillers can be resumed 2 weeks’ post treatment.

Pre & Post-Treatment Advice

For best results and to reduce the risk of complications, it is recommended that you use Alumier MD home care products for 10 to 14 days prior to your treatment.
Use of Alumier MD will allow for better treatment results and reduce the risk of complications.
If you are lactating, pregnant, or may become pregnant, consult your physician before receiving any treatment.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks prior to treatment.
Avoid the use of retinoid products (eg. retinol, Retin A, Tazorac) and AHA and BHA products for approximately 7 days prior to treatments.
Consult your doctor before temporarily discontinuing the medication to prepare for treatment.
Please allow 14 days post laser hair removal, photo-facials, radio frequency, microdermabrasion and previous chemical peels.
Please allow 7 days post waxing/threading, botox and dermal fillers.

POST TREATMENT

After your Alumier MD skin treatment, you should not necessarily expect to “peel”. However, you may have light to moderate flaking in a few localized areas for 3 to 7 days after treatment.
You may also experience residual redness, which lasts in most patents from 1 to 12 hours.
Alumier MD skin treatments may cause slight redness, tightness, peeling, flaking and temporary dryness.
Most clients do not find it necessary to apply make-up, as the skin will be smooth, dewy and radiant following your treatment.
It is recommended that you do not apply the home care products the day of the treatment. Instead, allow the skin to stabilize and rest overnight.
It may take 2 or more treatments to target deeper layers of the skin to loosen and peel.
In order to obtain maximum results and avoid complications, please follow the post-peel instructions listed below for 5 to 7 days.
